Wissam KotaitMental-health consultant, psychotherapist and clinical psychologist

Wissam Kotait is a Lebanese mental-health consultant, psychotherapist and clinical psychologist who have been expanding his work for the past years within the Mena region through various projects, workshops and capacity building trainings tackling: 
- Remote and on-site individual and group support related to well-being and mental health;
- Institutional and organizational resilience;
- Staff-care and self-care projects; 
 
- Protection and Gender Based Issues.

After finishing his masters in clinical psychology in Beirut, he engaged in two additional Masters in France (Art-thérapie, Antrophologie psychanalytique) where he worked and practiced for 7 years (2004-2011) with a main interest on “identity”. 

When he came back to Lebanon in 2011, he had the opportunity to become more knowledgeable and familiar with emergency contexts, served for different local and International NGO’s, in management and frontline positions, research and implementation sectors.
He progressively became an expert on Child Protection through his engagement with Himaya, and on Gender based Violence through his work with Abaad, while becoming more concerned and aware on issues related to staff well-being and organizational resilience. 
He shifted his career since 2017 by deciding to focus on consultancies related to the duty of care and institutional dynamics in various organizations, amongst which: The Konterra Group; Save the Children International (SCI); Danish Refugee Council (DRC); International Medical Corps (MIC); and the Lebanese Red Cross; 
He also works as a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist in Beit-Mery, where he lives and practices, and occasionally provides university courses at the Saint-Joseph University (USJ) in Beirut.
